The 4 Days Mount Longonot Climbing Adventure offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Kenya’s most remarkable volcanic mountains. Mount Longonot, located in the Great Rift Valley near Lake Naivasha, is an extinct stratovolcano rising to 2,776 meters above sea level. Known for its dramatic crater rim, panoramic views of the Rift Valley, and rich wildlife, it is a favorite hiking destination for both adventurers and nature enthusiasts.

Day 2: Mount Longonot Climb and Crater Rim Hike

After an early breakfast, drive to Mount Longonot National Park and begin your climb. The hike starts at the park gate (2,150 meters) and takes you through a steep trail covered with volcanic soil and vegetation. Within 2–3 hours, you will reach the crater rim at 2,776 meters. From here, you can walk around the 7.2 km rim trail, which takes 2–3 hours, offering stunning views of Lake Naivasha, Aberdare Ranges, and the Great Rift Valley. Picnic lunch at the summit before descending in the afternoon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Hell’s Gate National Park Excursion

Today, explore Hell’s Gate National Park, famous for its dramatic cliffs, gorges, hot springs, and geothermal features. The park is unique as you can walk or cycle alongside wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, and gazelles. A guided trek into the gorge allows you to experience the park’s volcanic landscapes up close. Lunch is served in the park before returning to your lodge for a relaxed afternoon by Lake Naivasha. Dinner and overnight at Naivasha.

Day 4: Naivasha – Nairobi – Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge. Depending on your schedule, you may take an optional morning walk along the lakeshore or visit a flower farm. Later, drive back to Nairobi with drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel for your onward journey.
